Biography

Short Bio

Kurdi Klymax is a Lagos-based artist whose work brings together Afrobeats, melodic rap, and street-rooted storytelling with a quiet emotional force. Coming from severe poverty and recording independently on a phone while studying accounting at Lagos State University, he has already passed 10,000 streams and begun drawing interest from labels and investors. His music feels close, considered, and unmistakably shaped by the texture of life in Lagos.

Full Bio

Kurdi Klymax belongs to a new generation of independent Nigerian artists making serious work with limited means and a precise sense of self. Based in Lagos, he writes songs that hold melody, memory, and lived experience in careful balance, creating records that feel intimate, contemporary, and firmly grounded in place.

He comes from deep poverty, and that reality remains central to his perspective. Rather than treating hardship as spectacle, his music turns it into detail, atmosphere, and emotional weight.

His decision to make music arrived at 11:45 PM on an otherwise ordinary night while listening to Juice WRLD. From there, with a Tecno Spark 3, BandLab, and a bedroom setup, he began shaping the earliest version of the sound that now defines his work.

An accounting student at Lagos State University, Ojo, he builds his catalog between lectures and late-night sessions. That rhythm is part of the music itself: disciplined, reflective, and attentive to the pressures and possibilities of everyday life in Lagos.

His influences include Kendrick Lamar's Mr. Morale & The Big Steppers, Post Malone's beerbongs & bentleys, and svn4vr's fleshdeath, records he has described as deeply affecting. Their influence appears less as imitation than as sensibility: introspection, melodic control, and a willingness to let atmosphere carry meaning.

With more than 10,000 independent streams and growing attention from labels and investors, Kurdi Klymax remains at an early but notable stage. What already feels clear is the quality of the foundation: a distinct point of view, strong records, and an artist moving with patience rather than noise.
